Chalcedony

Chalcedony is a member of the Cryptocyrstalline Quartz Group.  It has a waxy luster with extremely small crystals.  It is nearly transparent to translucent and when it fractures, it leaves sharp edges.  Its most common color is gray, but it may be white, brown, black, or blue.  Some varieties appear to be opals, but are not!
