Ruby

     A Ruby is a member of the Corrundum group, which is aluminum oxide.  It can be synthesized but is most stable in its naturally occurring form. 
     The Star Ruby is a result of dispersion of light around the six-fold axis of the crystal and is the most valued of this type of gemstone.
