About Wire
14 Kt. Rolled Gold Wire:
14 Kt. rolled wire, also known as
14/20 wire or 1/20 rolled gold
wire, was used extensively in the 1800's and
is very strong and durable.
It is not
"gold plate." It has 100
times the amount of gold that gold plate has. The wire
is created by making a 14 kt. gold tube with a
semi-precious metal core. This gold
metal composition makes the wire durable
enough that we can
create the swirls and curls used in our
unique designs. It's also
strong and resistant to tarnish
because of its 14 kt. gold
covering.
The wire that
we use to wrap each gemstone carries a lifetime guarantee.
This means that if you
accidentally break a piece of our jewelry, we
will
repair or replace it for you at no charge!

Sterling Silver
Wire (.925 Silver):
Sterling Silver Wire
is normally used in the construction of
sterling jewelry. It is beautiful and
very economical, but needs to be kept
polished so that it does not
tarnish.
|
Pure Silver Wire (.999 Silver):
Pure Silver Wire
will not tarnish. It has a patina that
looks like platinum; rich and subtle.
Few
jewelers use this metal. The cost is
reasonable, only slightly higher than Sterling
Silver Wire. This metal can only be
used on a few designs because of its
softness.
